Responsibilities:
- Monitor and Analyze: Continuously track and analyze global, regional, and national macroeconomic trends, including GDP, inflation, interest rates, employment, and trade.
- Forecast and Model: Develop and maintain sophisticated econometric models to generate accurate macroeconomic forecasts and scenarios.
- Research and Report: Conduct in-depth research on specific economic issues, preparing clear and concise reports, presentations, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide Insights: Translate complex economic data and models into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for senior leadership and various business units.
- Stay Current: Keep abreast of the latest economic research, methodologies, and data sources.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor, Master's or Ph.D. in Economics, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field.
- More than 2 years of work experience in macro research within a securities company. Candidates who have served as assistant researchers and are ready for a formal researcher role are highly encouraged to apply.
- Strong proficiency in statistical and econometric software (e.g., Stata, R, Python, EViews, MATLAB).
- Expertise in time series analysis, forecasting techniques, and quantitative modeling.
- Experience with large datasets and data visualization tools.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex economic concepts to non-economists.
- A proactive and curious mindset, with a strong desire to understand and explain economic phenomena.
