Job Overview:

We are seeking a results-driven Sea Import Development and Operations Manager to lead and expand our sea import business and operations. This role will focus on driving business development initiatives, optimizing processes, improving service performance, and ensuring compliance within the sea import division. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of international sea freight logistics, strong leadership skills, and the ability to align operational performance with strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in sea import services.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to design and implement customized solutions for key accounts.

  • Operations Management:

  • Oversee and manage daily sea import operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and service excellence.

  • Monitor KPIs to assess performance, service quality, and cost-efficiency.
  • Resolve operational issues and provide solutions to improve processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely handling of documentation, customs clearance, and cargo release.
  • Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the sea import team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Set clear objectives, provide training, and evaluate team performance regularly.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure all sea import activities comply with local and international regulations, including customs and trade compliance.

  • Manage risk related to cargo handling, documentation, and international shipping procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in sea import operations, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, Incoterms, customs clearance, and import documentation.
  • Proven track record in operational leadership and business development within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Familiarity with freight software systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken). Other languages are a plus.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in a multinational freight forwarding company.
  • Certification in logistics or international trade.
  • Understanding of trade compliance frameworks .
