Position Summary:
The Group Head of Procurement is responsible for leading the procurement function across all hotels, leisure units, and development projects under the group, ensuring a centralized, strategic, and cost-effective procurement framework that supports both operational and project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement the group-wide procurement strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Standardize procurement processes, policies, and controls across all hotels and leisure units.
- Consolidate demand across properties to leverage economies of scale and group buying power.
- Lead negotiations for group contracts, preferred supplier agreements, and long-term partnerships.
Supplier & Contract Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain a pool of approved, reliable, and cost-competitive suppliers.
- Negotiate framework agreements, SLAs, and pricing structures to optimize cost and quality.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs (on-time delivery, quality compliance, cost competitiveness).
- Ensure ethical sourcing practices and compliance with corporate governance standards.
Operational Procurement Oversight
- Provide guidance and oversight to hotel and leisure unit purchasing teams.
- Approve procurement of strategic, high-value, and critical items.
- Ensure OS&E, FF&E, F&B supplies, engineering materials, and service contracts are sourced efficiently.
- Support hotels during pre-opening, refurbishment, and major CAPEX projects.
Cost Control & Value Creation:
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and demand management.
- Provide market price benchmarking and monitor cost trends to anticipate inflation or shortages.
- Collaborate with Finance to track procurement savings vs. budget.
- Reduce wastage, stock obsolescence, and non-compliant purchases.
Compliance, Governance & Risk Management:
- Enforce procurement SOPs, approval hierarchies, and internal controls across all units.
- Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements in procurement transactions.
- Mitigate risks by diversifying suppliers and maintaining supply continuity plans.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring documentation accuracy.
Technology & Process Improvement:
- Lead the implementation of e-procurement systems and digital platforms for efficiency and transparency.
- Standardize specifications, purchase catalogs, and reporting templates across the group.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to streamline procurement workflows.
Project Duties
- Develop procurement strategies aligned with project requirements.
- Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, and tender processes.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Finalize purchase orders and contracts in line with company policies.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records.
DNA:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years' progressive experience in procurement/supply chain, with at least 5 years in a group leadership role.
- Proven experience in multi-property hospitality procurement (hotels, F&B, leisure, or service industry).
- Strong background in contract negotiation, supplier management, and CAPEX procurement.
- Strategic thinking with a focus on cost efficiency and value creation.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of hospitality supply markets (local and international).
- Familiarity with ERP and e-procurement systems.
- High integrity and commitment to compliance and ethical sourcing.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
