About the Role
The SPV of Estimator / Senior Engineer is responsible for leading cost estimation processes for engineering and construction projects while providing senior-level technical oversight. This role bridges the gap between technical design and project costing, ensuring accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates. It also involves supervising junior estimators or engineers and coordinating closely with project, procurement, and construction teams. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are estimated accurately and competitively, contributing to the overall success of the company.
Responsibilities
- Lead cost estimation processes for engineering and construction projects.
- Provide senior-level technical oversight.
- Ensure accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates.
- Coordinate closely with Solution, project, procurement, and construction teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- 2–4+ years of experience in estimation for MEP/data center/construction projects.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, power, plumbing, fire protection) in data centers or building services.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software, AutoCAD, and MS Excel (advanced level).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specs, and contract documents.
- Familiar with local regulations, codes, and tender processes.
Project & Business Skills
- Experience in BOQ preparation, costing, and value engineering.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills for cost analysis.
- Vendor/subcontractor sourcing, quotation review, and negotiation.
- Budget tracking and cost control.
Soft Skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines.
