Role Summary
Our client is looking for a talented
Video Editor who's creative and technically skilled professional who transforms raw footage into polished content appropriate for different platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok). This role will follow the company's style and visual identity to produce both short-form and long-form videos. The role also requires collaboration with the production and creative teams, and an ability to deliver final edits under deadline, with attention to detail and consistency
While the main focus is editing, this role will also occasionally help with graphics, thumbnails, or overlay text, anything needed to maintain brand style and maximize engagement. Responsibilities
- Edit raw video footage into short-form videos optimized for various platforms (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts), following OutsideIn's style and creative guidelines.
- Edit longer-form videos (YouTube, IGTV, or longer content) as needed, ensuring pacing, transitions, audio, and visual consistency.
- Integrate graphics, text overlays, subtitles/captions, and motion effects as required to make videos engaging, accessible, and on-brand.
- Color correction, audio cleanup, and other finishing touches to ensure professional visual and sound quality.
- Collaborate with the creative/production team to understand briefs, storyboards, and required outputs.
- Review feedback (from internal team or clients), make revisions, and deliver the final version on schedule.
Supporting Responsibilities
- Assist with selecting footage and organizing video assets (naming, storage, backups).
- Create thumbnails, intros/outros, or simple graphic assets (in Photoshop, Canva) when required.
- Keep track of versions of edits and maintain archives of previous drafts.
- Help monitor video performance metrics (watch time, engagement, retention) and suggest edits or improvements for future content.
- Coordinate with publishing teams to ensure correct formatting for platform specs (aspect ratio, codec, resolution).
- Maintain a consistent visual style across videos (fonts, color grading, transitions) and follow brand guidelines strictly.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing.
- Proficient in CapCut Pro for mobile / quick edits.
- Knowledge of After Effects (motion graphics / animation).
- Strong skills in Photoshop (for graphics, thumbnails, overlays).
- Comfortable using Canva for simpler graphic tasks or quick touch-ups.
- Strong command of English; ability to edit content in English.
- Ability to understand Malay (spoken / comprehension) is required (for content in Malay).
- Strong sense of pacing, rhythm, storytelling in video.
- Creative mindset: willingness to propose improvements, try new techniques, keep up to date with trends.
