We're looking for a Senior Network Engineer to manage the bank's critical network infrastructure, including backbone, L2/L3/L4 devices, wireless LAN, and external banking communications. This role will ensure high availability, security, and efficiency of the network through proactive operations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain network equipment (L2/L3/L4 switches, routers, firewalls).
- Perform firmware upgrades, OS patching, and vulnerability mitigation across network devices.
- Conduct thorough routing reviews and configuration checks to ensure network reliability.
- Analyze recurring issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
- Install and reconfigure network devices for new rollouts, replacements, or branch expansions.
- Maintain accurate network asset inventory, including hardware specs, locations, and diagrams.
- Operate and troubleshoot Wireless LAN (WLAN) and support end-user connectivity issues.
- Provide ongoing support for external/inter-bank communication lines, including line health checks and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering, preferably in the banking or finance sector.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent network devices (L2/L3 switching, routing).
- Proficient in network protocols and configurations: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, VPN, etc.
- Experienced in OS/firmware upgrades, patching, and security hardening of network equipment.
- Skilled in analyzing network issues and implementing permanent solutions.
- Familiar with wireless LAN operation, user access control, and signal optimization.
- Proficient in using network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
- Strong documentation and inventory management skills (network diagrams, rack layouts, configs).
