About the role
We are seeking a motivated and organised Art Gallery Admin (Internship) to join our team at Maidagallery in South Jakarta, Jakarta on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the administrative and operational side of running an art gallery. As the Art Gallery Admin, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth running of our vibrant and growing art space.
What you'll be doing
- Providing administrative and clerical support to the gallery team, including managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and maintaining inventory records
- Assisting with the coordination of art exhibitions, events, and openings, ensuring a seamless experience for visitors and artists
- Welcoming and guiding visitors, answering inquiries, and providing information about the gallery's exhibitions and programs
- Helping with the processing and handling of artwork, including receiving, cataloguing, and preparing pieces for display
- Providing support with various marketing and promotional activities, such as updating the gallery's website and social media channels
- Undertaking general office duties, such as filing, photocopying, and ordering supplies
What we're looking for
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanour
- A keen interest in the arts and a passion for providing outstanding customer service
- Some prior experience in an administrative or customer-facing role, preferably within an art gallery or cultural institution
- Proficiency in using common office software, such as Microsoft Office applications
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work well in a team and independently
