The Lead Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating Substation Protection and Control System (PAC) Solutions & Services to customers and acceptance of GE offering. Provides the experience, expertise and knowledge of Standards/ GE offerings and Customers requirements to solve problems involving Substation Control schemes with options and negotiate internally/externally the suitability of all.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead regional technical strategy and execution for Substation Automation Systems (SAS), working closely with channel partners and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Design, analyze, and evaluate individual and team projects using sound engineering principles aligned with GE standards and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams and cross-functional collaborators.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to develop and implement action plans aimed at increasing market share, gaining customer approvals, and launching new solutions.
  • Drive development and adoption of SAS solutions within end-user organizations and across multiple countries.
  • Support tendering and application teams with accurate, technical input and risk assessments.
  • Represent GE in technical discussions, customer meetings, and industry forums—presenting new offerings and gathering product feedback.
  • Ensure rigorous documentation and compliance with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between Central Product Line teams, regional sales, channel partners, and customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in an engineering role, preferably with hands-on involvement in substation automation or protection systems.
  • Proven practical expertise in:
  • High Voltage (HV) or Medium Voltage (MV) Substation Automation Systems
  • Protection systems
  • Communication protocols including IEC 61850
  • Substation Digital Control Systems and RTUs
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical topics to diverse customer audiences.
