We are looking for an experienced and proactive Microsoft Azure Cloud Engineer to support our cloud infrastructure, deployments, and operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing Azure environments with a focus on scalability, security, and efficiency.
This is a contract-based position with remote flexibility and potential for long-term collaboration depending on project needs.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
- Provision and configure resources such as VMs, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, and Azure SQL
- Set up and manage Azure Active Directory (AAD), RBAC, and network security rules
- Develop and maintain ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics
- Ensure cost optimization, performance tuning, and compliance with security best practices
- Automate deployments using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and incident response processes
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Azure Engineer or Cloud Engineer with production deployments
- Familiarity with IaC using ARM/Bicep/Terraform
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
- Understanding of cloud security and compliance frameworks (ISO, GDPR, etc.)
- Microsoft Certification (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305) is a big plus
Strong knowledge of:
Azure Virtual Network, NSGs, VNets, Subnets
- Azure App Services, Storage Accounts, Azure SQL
- Azure Active Directory, identity & access management
- PowerShell, CLI, or Bash scripting
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kubernetes (AKS) or containerized applications
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud setups or on-prem to Azure migrations
- Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, or other Azure security tools
- Integration with other services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Logic Apps, Power Platform)
