Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Specialist to join our procurement team. This role requires a professional who can effectively manage sourcing activities, drive cost optimization initiatives, and support our operational excellence through strategic procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute sourcing and procurement activities for spare parts, equipment, and services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Identify and implement cost avoidance and cost saving opportunities
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement activities
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to understand technical requirements for spare parts and machinery components
  • Conduct market research and supplier evaluations
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
  • Support budget planning and forecasting activities
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management
  • Strong understanding of sourcing methodologies and procurement best practices
  • Demonstrated experience with cost analysis, cost avoidance, and cost saving initiatives
  • Knowledge of spare parts management and basic understanding of mechanical/electrical components
  • Proficiency in KPI development, tracking, and reporting
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Understanding of business fundamentals and financial impact of procurement decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles
  • Familiarity with supplier quality management
  • Experience with contract management and legal compliance
