Role Description

  • Install, configure, and upgrade database servers and related tools.
  • Manage and maintain database systems across multiple environments (development, testing, and production).
  • Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies (e.g., indexing, partitioning, query optimization).
  • Manage user roles, permissions, and database security (access control, encryption, auditing).
  • Ensure database availability through clustering, replication, and failover mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance or reliability issues.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployment and optimization.
  • Maintain clear documentation for configurations, procedures, and database architecture.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging database technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role
  • roficient in relational database systems: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB.
  • Familiar with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Couchbase.
  • Experienced in backup and recovery planning, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Knowledge of database security, including role management, access control, and encryption.
  • Skilled in database monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
  • Understanding of high availability and replication technologies such as Oracle RAC, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, and mirroring systems.
