About the Role
We are building the foundation for the next generation of connected intelligent systems — combining IoT, AI, and robotics to power real-world intelligence. As an IoT Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying smart device ecosystems that connect seamlessly with our AI and robotic platforms. You will work on hardware-software integration, secure data communication, and intelligent edge systems that enable real-time insights and autonomous operations.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the infrastructure behind advanced robotics and AI systems, bridging the physical and digital worlds.
What You Will Do
● Design, prototype, and implement embedded systems for IoT devices using microcontrollers such as ESP32, STM32, or Raspberry Pi.
● Develop and optimize firmware with efficient data transmission protocols (MQTT, CoAP, gRPC, LoRa, BLE, or 5G).
● Integrate IoT data streams into cloud platforms (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, EMQX, or ThingsBoard).
● Implement secure communication and OTA (Over-The-Air) update mechanisms for distributed edge devices.
● Work closely with AI and Robotics teams to embed real-time analytics and edge AI models (TensorRT, TFLite, or OpenVINO).
● Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to design data pipelines for device telemetry, monitoring, and predictive maintenance.
● Participate in end-to-end testing, calibration, and deployment of IoT hardware in lab and field environments.
● Research and evaluate new sensor technologies, power management techniques, and edge computing frameworks.
What You Will Need
● Experience in embedded systems, IoT architecture, or edge computing.
● Strong knowledge of C/C++, Python, or Rust for firmware and edge applications.
● Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (ESP32, STM32, Jetson Nano, Raspberry Pi).
● Familiarity with protocols: MQTT, CoAP, Modbus, CAN, LoRaWAN, or Zigbee.
● Understanding of cloud IoT platforms and database integration.
● Experience with circuit design, PCB layout, and power systems is a plus.
● Knowledge of device security principles (TLS, firmware signing, encryption).
● Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a maker mindset.
● Technical/Vocational High School (SMK) majoring in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Hardware Engineering. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with edge AI (object detection, sensor fusion, predictive inference).
● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for firmware and device fleet management.
● Exposure to robotics, autonomous systems, or industrial IoT.
