Responsibilities :
- Develop and submit the annual vessel budget for management approval.
- Conduct quarterly inspections of vessels, prepare detailed reports, and create deficiency lists.
- Collaborate with shore-based repair teams to secure the best prices and shortest turnaround times for necessary repairs.
- Draft dry-docking specifications, obtain quotations from shipyards, evaluate the best offers, and recommend proposals to management for approval.
- Oversee dry-docking or major repair projects to minimize off-hire time by coordinating with ship staff, class surveyors, agents, vendors, sub-contractors, insurance underwriters, and other relevant parties.
- Work closely with the Master and Chief Engineer to ensure that all statutory surveys are completed to the satisfaction of surveyors.
- Review and analyze operational and performance data submitted by vessels.
- Monitor the overall condition of the hull and machinery, and initiate preventive or corrective actions when needed during voyages.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering with a minimum Class II Certificate.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Marine Engineer, including sailing experience.
- Strong analytical skills, proactive mindset, and integrity in decision-making.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different functions.
- Willingness to embark on voyages if necessary.
- Proficiency in English.
