Job Description:
- Conduct digital forensic investigations on mobile devices, including the collection, preservation, analysis, and interpretation of digital evidence from smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices.
- Utilize mobile forensic tools and techniques to identify, extract, and analyze relevant data, such as user activity, communications, application data, and metadata.
- Support the digital forensics team in the preparation of clear, concise, and accurate reports detailing the results of mobile forensic analysis, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Maintain the chain of custody and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to digital evidence handling and data privacy.
- Continuously develop and expand technical skills through training, education, and on-the-job experience to contribute effectively to the digital forensics team.
- Collaborate with other cybersecurity teams (e.g., incident response, security operations, threat intelligence) to provide timely and actionable insights based on mobile forensic analysis.
- Stay current with the latest mobile forensics trends, technologies, and best practices through continuous learning, attending conferences, and participating in professional forums.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of mobile forensic processes, tools, and strategies.
Job Requirements:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, digital forensics, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CCO, CCPA, Cellebrite, SANS GASF, or CHFI are desirable.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in digital forensics, mobile forensics, incident response, or a related field.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in various mobile forensic tools and technologies (e.g., Cellebrite, Oxygen Forensic Suite, Magnet AXIOM, XRY), mobile operating systems (iOS, Android), and basic programming/scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).
- Analytical skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze digital evidence from mobile devices and draw accurate conclusions.
- Legal knowledge: Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to digital evidence handling, chain of custody, and data privacy.
- Communication skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the overall success of the digital forensics team.
