Qualifications & experience
- Maritime related Diploma or University degree of a reputable school, preferred Degree / Diploma related to Naval Architecture / Engineering.
- COC Class 2 Minimum. Prior sailing experience as Master on board oil tanker preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience as Marine Superintendent. Minimum 3 years experience in Marine Managerial role.
- Knowledge of codes, standards, and guidelines published by ISGOTT, TMSA, OCIMF, IMO, ISM, MLC, Flag/Port state, IACS Class requirements, and various international conventions and terminal vetting requirements for oil tankers.
- Team-player, adaptable, willing to learn, analysis and logical thinking ability.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Lead and manage Marine dept to ensure compliance to various codes, standards, and guidelines for oil tanker operations, ensuring major terminal & refinery acceptances.
- Maintaining, overseeing, upkeeping and drafting of ISM manual, procedures, and various reports ensuring efficient, excellent, and efficient safe maritime operations.
- Lead team to, prepare vessel and office team, and conduct various audits and inspections, and respond to observations raised during these audits and inspections. This includes various office audits such as DOC and TMSA.
- Plan and execute training for Officers and Crew in compliance to the codes, standards, and guidelines for oil tanker operations, ensuring major terminal & refinery acceptances.
- Planning and preparing work, budget, and producing reports for stake holders and management according to requirements.
