About the role

Key Responsibilities :

  • Supplier management: Conduct market research to identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers and subcontractors for civil construction projects.
  • Contract negotiation: Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Purchase orders: Prepare, review, and track purchase orders from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Cost analysis and budgeting: Collaborate with the project team to prepare budgets, analyze costs, and identify opportunities for savings without compromising quality.
  • Documentation and records: Maintain accurate and updated records of all procurement activities, including supplier information, contracts, and pricing lists.
  • Quality and compliance: Monitor vendor performance to ensure materials and services meet quality standards and project specifications. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Internal coordination: Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams, such as project managers, engineers, and the finance department, to align on project requirements.
  • Problem-solving: Address and resolve any issues that may arise with suppliers, including delays, quality concerns, or discrepancies.

Required skills and qualifications :

  • Educational background: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related field is often required.
  • Industry knowledge: Strong knowledge of the construction industry, including common materials, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiation: Strong negotiation and persuasion skills are essential for securing the best possible terms.
  • Analytical thinking: The ability to analyze data, evaluate suppliers, and make cost-effective decisions.
  • Organizational skills: Impeccable attention to detail and strong time-management skills to juggle multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
  • Software proficiency: Familiarity with procurement software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (such as SAP or Oracle), and Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the civil engineering or construction sector.
  • Willing to work on-site in Jakarta and Batam
