Main responsibilities :
- Monitoring reporting from the ships and keeping required control on the fleet's performance
- Control and monitor the risk for assigned vessels and to act as part of the risk assessment team for shipboard procedures and operations when called upon to do so
- Maintain records of accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformance reports. Verify that an effective investigation is carried out and appropriate corrective action is agreed upon and implemented in a timely manner
- Encourage a robust QHSE (Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality) culture within the fleet
Requirements :
- Holder of an ANT 1 (Deck Officer Class 1) certificate with international sailing experience
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Master, Chief Engineer, or Senior Officer
- Previous experience as a Marine Superintendent is preferred
- Proven track record in managing safety and training within dry bulk operations
- Experience as an internal auditor or trainer in dry bulk operations is preferred
Knowledge/Skillset requirements:

- Dry bulk operations
- Incident/accident investigation
- Risk management
- Audit compliance (for bulk shipping)
- Safety Management Systems (SMS)
Educational/training/regulatory requirements:
- Certificate of Competency
- Additional certifications related to ISM/ISPS/MLC auditing or Internal Auditing could be beneficial
- Certification in accident/incident investigation, risk assessment and management, and training
