About the Role
Responsible for overseeing the design, operation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems within a power generation facility. This role ensures reliable and efficient power generation while adhering to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
:
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance for high-voltage systems and control panels.
- Develop and review electrical system designs for power generation and distribution.
- Monitor electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchgear, and excitation systems.
- Perform load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies.
- Monitor and troubleshoot electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Manage SCADA, PLC, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for boiler-turbine-generator coordination.
- Analyze plant performance to maximize electrical output and minimize auxiliary power consumption.
- Recommend improvements for heat rate and overall plant efficiency.
Qualifications
:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 8–10 years in electrical engineering within coal-fired power plants.
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; experience with turbine-generator excitation systems is a plus.
Required Skills
:
- Expertise in generator synchronization, excitation systems, and grid interconnection.
- Proficiency in electrical simulation tools (ETAP, MATLAB).
- Strong knowledge of boiler-turbine-generator electrical integration.
- Experience with turbine-generator excitation systems.
