Job Responsibilities
- Store Legal Support: Participate in due diligence for store site selection and lease agreements as well as review of such agreements; ensure compliance of decoration projects. Review operational contracts including those with suppliers and outsourcing service providers; respond promptly to urgent legal consultations from the headquarters and stores (e.g., consumer complaints, labor inspections). Assist in dispute resolution (e.g., labor arbitration, lease disputes) and establish a case database.
- Compliance Management: Combine Indonesian regulations and headquarters requirements to assist in building localized compliance systems (covering business conduct, data privacy, labor employment, etc.). Submit regular compliance reports to the headquarters and organize training sessions as required.
- Headquarters Collaboration and Shareholder Support: Undertake legal work assigned by the headquarters (e.g., localization of contract templates) and complete Indonesian legal research in a timely manner. Assist in preparing shareholder meeting documents, answer shareholders' legal questions, and review equity-related documents.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Law. Candidates with Indonesian Advokat practicing certificate are preferred. Those with legal work experience in well-known local law firms in Indonesia or large retail companies are highly desirable.
- 5-8 years of legal-related experience, including at least 3 years of experience as in-house legal counsel in the Indonesian retail industry or as a lawyer specializing in the retail sector. Familiar with laws such as the Consumer Protection Law and the Labor Employment Law. Experience in managing a team of 2 or more people, and having led the implementation of compliance systems or handling of major disputes.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Indonesian (capable of drafting legal documents and communicating with government departments). Proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading and writing) for work purposes. Proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
- Ability to quickly identify legal risks in retail business operations, proficient in full-lifecycle contract management, and capable of independently handling local disputes in Indonesia. Understanding of Indonesian business culture and strong pressure resistance.
