The
Feasibility & Financial Modelling Specialist
is responsible for designing and maintaining comprehensive financial models, conducting feasibility studies, and supporting strategic partnership negotiations. This role is critical in assessing the financial viability of new and upgraded schools, forecasting long-term funding requirements, and providing market intelligence to guide expansion strategies. This position will also contribute to deal structuring, risk assessment, and decision-making to ensure sustainable growth and financial resilience of the foundation's initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Financial Modelling & Analysis

  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate project viability, multi-year program budgets, and funding strategies.
  • Develop models for various school initiatives with various school partnership schemes (e.g., public-private, new vs. upgraded, boarding vs. non-boarding schools), including but not limited to Greenfield schools with 5–10 years of capital expenditure & operational expenditure projections, upgraded school projects with ROI calculators.
  • Conduct multi-year forecasting, scenario planning, and sensitivity/stress-test analyses (e.g., enrollment shocks, scholarship impacts, cost escalations).
  • Develop financial models to support business development initiatives, including evaluation of new funding opportunities, partnerships, and program expansion scenarios.
  • Ensure models are adaptable to various donor requirements, regulatory frameworks, and funding/partnership scenarios.
  • Assess financial sustainability and overall impact of new initiatives, partnerships, and grants, and translate outputs into actionable insights for decision-makers.

B. Feasibility Studies (Financial Focus)

  • Develop and apply a school viability framework/scorecard, including: market demand and student enrollment projections; competitive landscape and saturation analysis; regulatory and accreditation risks, in collaboration with the Partnership Officer.
  • Perform detailed break-even analyses across different partnership models.
  • Prepare comprehensive feasibility reports highlighting financial implications and recommendations.

C. Program & Partnership Financial Support

  • Provide financial insights and projections to support program and partnership planning.
  • Assist in structuring funding scenarios, including grant allocations, cost-sharing arrangements, and other financial mechanisms.
  • Validate financial assumptions and documents from partners to ensure project viability and sustainability.
  • Contribute to presentations and reports with clear data visualization and actionable financial analysis for decision-makers.

D. Market Intelligence & Data Analysis

  • Maintain and update a database of key metrics for school expansion, including land prices, teacher salary benchmarks by region, and construction cost indices.
  • Analyze market trends and data to provide actionable insights for expansion planning, budgeting, and investment decisions.
  • Support decision-making by translating raw market data into clear, practical recommendations for new initiatives and program growth

E. Collaboration & Stakeholders Support

  • Work closely with program teams and management to align assumptions and ensure data accuracy.
  • Support business development efforts with data-driven funding and impact analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and financial reporting standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, or Data Science; Master's degree or professional certification (FMVA, CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and budget analysis; experience in project finance, feasibility studies (especially in education or real estate), or the nonprofit sector is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including LAMBDA and Scenario Manager; knowledge of VBA, Power BI, Tableau, or other analytical/visualization tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present financial data and insights to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of the Indonesian education sector, regulations, and school financing structures is an advantage.
