Quality Planning
Develop and implement a comprehensive quality plan for the project, including technical specifications, quality standards, and testing procedures.
- Coordinate with design teams and project managers to understand the quality requirements and objectives of the project.
Quality Supervision and Monitoring
Conduct regular inspections of construction materials and ongoing work to ensure compliance with the technical specifications and established quality standards.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the drawings, technical specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Supervise the inspection of construction materials (e.g., concrete, steel, and other materials) to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
Quality Testing and Evaluation
Perform material testing and field tests to assess the quality of work and materials.
- Organize laboratory tests for materials and processes and ensure that test results meet the required standards.
Quality Reporting
Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly quality reports that document the results of inspections, tests, and findings in the field.
- Identify any quality issues or non-conformance and propose corrective actions.
- Provide reports to project managers or relevant stakeholders regarding quality progress, achievements, and necessary improvements.
Corrective and Preventive Actions
Develop and implement corrective actions when non-conformance or quality issues arise during the project.
- Work with the team to implement preventive measures to mitigate the risk of future quality issues.
Quality Audits and Compliance
Conduct regular quality audits to ensure the quality management system is being followed properly.
- Ensure that the project complies with local, national, and international regulations, and contractual quality requirements.
Coordination and Communication
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and other project teams to ensure everyone understands and implements the agreed quality standards.
- Provide training and guidance to the project team on quality procedures and best practices.
Quality Issue Resolution
Analyze the root cause of any quality issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Propose and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues and improve performance.
Documentation and Record Keeping
Manage and maintain accurate documentation related to quality inspections, material certifications, test results, and relevant reports.
- Keep a detailed record of every quality aspect of the project for future audits and verification.
Supplier and Subcontractor Performance Evaluation
- Evaluate the performance of suppliers and subcontractors regarding the quality of materials or services provided to the project.
- Collaborate with project managers to assess and select suppliers who can meet the required quality standards.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Quality Surveyor in the construction industry or a related field.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of construction quality standards and regulations.
- Ability to perform material testing and evaluate the quality of work.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in using software such as MS Office, AutoCAD, or specialized construction project software.
- Certifications: Quality-related certifications (e.g., ISO 9001) are a plus.
