About the Role

The Accounting Supervisor – AR & AP plays a key role in ensuring the company's financial transactions are accurate, timely, and well-controlled. This position oversees both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, providing guidance to the accounting team, reviewing financial data, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate across departments to support effective cash flow management and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Supervise and ensure timely recording of customer payments and payment journals in the accounting system.
  • Monitor AR aging reports, follow up on outstanding invoices, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve payment issues.
  • Review and approve customer billing, credit notes, and adjustments.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of AR balances and support monthly and year-end closing activities.

Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Supervise the vendor payment process handled by accounting staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policy.
  • Review and approve payment vouchers and supporting documents before execution.
  • Monitor AP aging and coordinate payment scheduling based on cash flow planning.
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting staff in resolving payment discrepancies or issues.

General Accounting & Reporting:

  • Prepare and review journal entries related to AR, AP, and adjustments.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Provide periodic financial and cash flow reports to management.
  • Assist internal and external audits by providing accurate and complete documentation.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or senior role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations related to AP and AR.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
