Role Description :
The
T&C Engineer (Fire)
will be responsible for managing testing and commissioning activities for fire protection and suppression systems. He/She is responsible to plan, conduct, and document system testing, ensuring compliance with project requirements, NFPA standards, and functional performance criteria.
Job Description :
- Prepare detailed testing and commissioning procedures for fire protection and suppression systems (sprinkler, hydrant, FM200, NOVEC, CO₂, pre-action systems, etc.).
- Review design drawings, equipment submittals, and control logic for commissioning readiness.
- Conduct functional and performance testing of fire systems, alarms, detection devices, and interlocks.
- Coordinate with construction, electrical, and BMS teams for integrated system testing.
- Supervise vendor or subcontractor T&C works and ensure compliance with approved procedures.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, and authorities for inspections and approvals.
- Prepare and maintain test reports, checklists, and commissioning documentation.
- Identify system defects, prepare punch lists, and follow up on rectifications.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with HSE standards and fire safety regulations.
- Support the project handover process with accurate documentation and test certifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in testing and commissioning of fire protection or suppression systems.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and local fire safety regulations.
- Experience in Data Center, Construction, or MEP facilities is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with BMS, fire alarm systems, and integrated system testing.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and T&C documentation tools.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Fire system certification (e.g., NFPA, CFPS, or equivalent) is an advantage.
