A leading multinational company specializing in vaping technology and atomization solutions is looking for a Production Supervisor, who will be responsible for overseeing daily production operations across multiple shifts to ensure targets for output, quality, and delivery are consistently met. The role involves leading and coaching shift leaders and operators, managing manpower allocation, and ensuring smooth coordination between departments such as Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and supervise daily production across three shifts to meet output, yield and delivery targets.
- Lead and coach shift leaders and operators; handle manpower planning, shift handovers, daily briefings and discipline.
- Monitor production KPIs (throughput, OEE, scrap, downtime); analyze gaps and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Enforce SOPs/WIs, 5S and EHS standards; conduct safety inspections and toolbox talks; report and follow up incidents.
- Coordinate with Planning, QA/QC, Maintenance and Warehouse to secure materials, machine availability and smooth changeovers.
- Troubleshoot line issues; perform root cause analysis (5-Why/Fishbone) and implement CAPA; escalate when needed.
- Support NPI/engineering changes, line balancing, layout optimization and time studies.
- Maintain accurate records and reports (daily/weekly/monthly); update Excel trackers and ERP/MES data; ensure WIP/inventory accuracy.
- Train and certify operators; maintain a skills matrix; promote continuous improvement (Kaizen, waste reduction).
- Participate in internal/customer/ISO audits and support compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Control costs via productivity improvements, scrap/rework reduction and optimized overtime.
- Provide backup/on-call coverage for other shifts as required.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Industrial/Manufacturing or related; equivalent experience considered.
- 3–6 years' experience as a Production Supervisor/Team Leader in a foreign-invested (MNC) manufacturing environment; Japanese company background strongly preferred.
- English communication: fluent in speaking and writing; able to communicate effectively with expatriate management and cross-functional teams
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); capable of preparing production reports, schedules and dashboards. Excel functions and pivot tables preferred.
- Basic CAD skills (e.g., AutoCAD) are a plus for line layout, jigs/fixtures and work instruction updates.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing operations, SOP/WI, 5S, basic quality tools (PDCA, 5-Why, Fishbone); Lean/Kaizen exposure preferred.
- Proven leadership of shopfloor teams (100+ operators per shift); coaching, performance management and conflict resolution.
- Willing to work on a 3-shift rotation and perform overtime/weekend work as needed.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and coordination skills; high sense of responsibility and result orientation.
