Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience as a Chinese cuisine chef in a reputable hotel or restaurant.
- Specialized knowledge in various regional Chinese cooking techniques and dishes.
- Formal culinary training or certification is preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in Chinese cuisine preparation techniques and proficiency in using Chinese cooking equipment and utensils
- Mandarin language skills are a strong plus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic Chinese dishes using traditional techniques and ingredients.
- Apply specialized knowledge of various regional Chinese cuisines (e.g., Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, etc.) to maintain menu authenticity and quality.
- Operate and maintain traditional Chinese cooking equipment such as wok ranges, steamers, and cleavers with high proficiency.
- Ensure consistent food quality, portioning, and presentation according to company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Supervise and coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations, especially during peak hours.
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with the team and management, and provide training or mentorship to junior kitchen staff when needed.
- Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Utilize Mandarin language skills to support communication with Mandarin-speaking staff or suppliers (if applicable), and to better understand traditional recipes and techniques.
