Job Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience as a Chinese cuisine chef in a reputable hotel or restaurant.
  • Specialized knowledge in various regional Chinese cooking techniques and dishes.
  • Formal culinary training or certification is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in Chinese cuisine preparation techniques and proficiency in using Chinese cooking equipment and utensils
  • Mandarin language skills are a strong plus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic Chinese dishes using traditional techniques and ingredients.
  • Apply specialized knowledge of various regional Chinese cuisines (e.g., Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, etc.) to maintain menu authenticity and quality.
  • Operate and maintain traditional Chinese cooking equipment such as wok ranges, steamers, and cleavers with high proficiency.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, portioning, and presentation according to company standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Supervise and coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations, especially during peak hours.
  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and management, and provide training or mentorship to junior kitchen staff when needed.
  • Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
  • Utilize Mandarin language skills to support communication with Mandarin-speaking staff or suppliers (if applicable), and to better understand traditional recipes and techniques.
