As the
Platform Engineering Manager
, you will lead a team responsible for building, scaling, and maintaining the core platforms and infrastructure that power our applications. You'll partner closely with software engineers, DevOps, and security teams to ensure our systems are reliable, performant, secure, and easy to use. This role blends technical leadership, people management, and strategic planning to deliver a world-class developer experience and infrastructure foundation.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and grow a high-performing platform engineering team through mentorship, clear goals, and career development.
  • Define and execute the platform strategy to support scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient infrastructure.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to align platform initiatives with product and business goals.

Technical Ownership

  • Oversee design and implementation of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure platform reliability through observability, monitoring, and incident management best practices.
  • Drive automation, infrastructure-as-code, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) adoption.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to maintain a secure and compliant platform environment.

Developer Enablement

  • Build and maintain internal tools, APIs, and environments that empower development teams.
  • Advocate for best practices in scalability, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Reduce friction in software delivery through improved developer experience and platform usability.

Operational Excellence

  • Define SLAs/SLOs for platform services and ensure uptime and reliability targets are met.
  • Manage platform budgets, optimize cloud costs, and forecast capacity needs.
  • Lead postmortems and continuous improvement initiatives following incidents or outages.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of software/infrastructure engineering experience.
  • 2–4+ years of people management or technical leadership experience.
  • Proven success managing cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
  • Familiarity with microservices architectures, networking, and cloud security practices.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strategic thinking with a bias for action and automation.
  • Empathy-driven leadership with a focus on developer productivity and experience.
