What You'll Be Doing :

As the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of workshop operations. Your role will involve both day to day management and strategic decision making. Specifically, you will:

  • Plan and supervise vehicle maintenance and repair schedules to ensure operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
  • Manage the availability and efficient usage of spare parts to support uninterrupted workshop operations.
  • Coordinate with related departments within the pool to ensure seamless integration and communication across functions.
  • Lead regular performance evaluations of the workshop, including budgeting, staff performance metrics, and identification of improvement opportunities.
  • Make decisions based on evaluation results, including corrective actions, efficiency initiatives, and resource allocation.
  • Determine and approve required manpower for the workshop to ensure adequate staffing aligned with operational needs.
  • Ensure the workshop team is well-trained and consistently adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workplace safety standards.
  • Drive improvements in operational efficiency, including maintenance scheduling, parts management, and resource utilization—while identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising repair quality.
  • Present performance analysis and strategic recommendations to senior management for continuous optimization.
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, and foster a safe and sustainable work environment.
  • Identify environmental impacts and operational risks within the department, and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.
  • Apply and maintain compliance with integrated management systems, including Quality Management, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), Environmental Management, Information Security, and Cybersecurity, as relevant to workshop operations.

What We're Looking For :

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive professional who has:

  • Proven experience in workshop or fleet operations management, preferably in a transportation or logistics environment.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance processes, spare parts management, and operational planning.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach and develop staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in performance analysis and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental impact assessment, and compliance standards in workshop operations.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-departmentally and communicate findings and recommendations effectively to top management.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Working knowledge of integrated management systems (QMS, OHS, Environmental, InfoSec, Cybersecurity) and their implementation in a workshop setting.
