is currently assisting one of our clients in Japanese Logistic company in finding great talent as a Technical Superintendent SI (LNG Vessels) with the requirement as follows:

Working location: Jakarta Based

Position Overview: Technical Superintendent (Marine Engineering)

We are looking for a Technical Superintendent who will take charge of the engineering management of large ocean-going vessels (about 60,000 tons, 200 meters in length).

This is a shore-based role, not onboard work. Each superintendent is responsible for managing one vessel, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

In this role, you will oversee everything from maintenance and inspections of engines and machinery, to handling unexpected technical issues, always making sure the ship can operate safely and smoothly.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance, inspection, repair, and servicing of ship engines and machinery
  • Manage procurement of spare parts, fuel, and cost control
  • Plan and arrange dry-docking and regular inspections (including the 5-yearly special survey)
  • Handle inspections, certifications, and voyage permits
  • Investigate technical problems and propose effective solutions
  • Ensure safety in ship operations and lead continuous improvements
  • Supervise the engine department team and coordinate with the ship management company

What is a Technical Superintendent?

A Technical Superintendent is a shore-based professional who manages the technical operations of ships on behalf of a ship management company or shipowner.

Rather than working onboard, you support the vessel from shore by overseeing its machinery, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient voyages.

Requirements:

  • Experience: First/Chief Engineer on
    LNG or LPG vessels
    (LNG: at least 2 years, LPG: at least 4 years)
  • Willing to work in Shore-Based not sailing
