What you will do:
The Data Engineer Intern assists in developing and maintaining data extraction pipelines, primarily through web scraping. You will help ensure data is accurately collected, cleaned, and integrated, supporting the team in maintaining efficient and high-quality data operations.
- Extraction Development
- Develop and test data extraction scripts using Python and relevant libraries (e.g., Beautiful Soup, Scrapy, Selenium). - Implement basic data parsing and initial transformations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot failures in extraction scripts. - Data Handling
- Assist in loading extracted data into staging environments (e.g., data warehouse/lake).
- Execute basic data quality checks and validation on extracted datasets.

- Work with engineers on requirements for external data sources.
- Support senior engineers on specific extraction tasks.
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
You will fit in this job if you:
- Experience: currently enrolled in or recent graduate of relevant program (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematic, or Statistics).
- Technical Skills
- Python (basic to intermediate knowledge).
- Familiarity with web scraping libraries (e.g., Beautiful Soup, Requests, Scrapy, or Selenium).
- Basic SQL skills.
