Distributor Development Manager
— a strategic and hands-on leader who will strengthen our route-to-market (RTM) infrastructure, optimize distributor networks, and accelerate availability across Indonesia.
About the Role
As a
Distributor Development Manager
, you'll lead the design, execution, and optimization of our distribution and RTM strategies to ensure the right products reach the right markets efficiently.
You'll work closely with Sales, Trade Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to drive coverage expansion, distributor capability, and commercial performance through data-driven initiatives and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Distribution Strategy & Expansion
- Develop and implement national distribution strategies to strengthen numeric and weighted distribution across regions.
- Identify white space and underpenetrated areas to expand market reach and optimize territory coverage.
Distributor Management & Performance
- Lead end-to-end distributor lifecycle management — recruitment, onboarding, performance review, and capability building.
- Design and monitor distributor performance frameworks (KPIs, ROI, stock level, service level, working capital)
Route-to-Market Optimization
- Build efficient RTM models tailored to each channel (GT, MT, hybrid).
- Continuously assess route productivity, cost-to-serve, and market coverage to drive operational excellence.
Digital & Process Enablement
- Champion the use of technology through
Distributor Management Systems (DMS)
,
Sales Force Automation (SFA)
, and digital field execution tools. - Implement data-driven decision-making frameworks for continuous optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Capability Building
- Partner with Sales, Trade Marketing, and Supply Chain to ensure distribution readiness for new product launches and trade programs.
- Coach and develop both internal sales teams and external distributor partners through structured programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or any related fields.
Minimum 3 years of experience in FMCG sales, distribution, RTM, or channel development.
Strong understanding of distributor operations, GT/MT channels, and coverage models (urban & rural).
Proven success in managing and transforming distribution networks at regional or national level.
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategy.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
Hands-on experience with DMS, SFA tools, Power BI, or similar systems is an advantage.
