Scope of Work:

  • The
    MER Lead

will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting large datasets to drive business decisions and improve operational efficiency.
2. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience with data pipeline and visualization, and the ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to stakeholders. Research experience is not mandatory but preferable.
3. The successful candidate will conduct the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities, ensure the collection, analysis, and reporting of high-quality data, in collaboration with the Head of MER and the MER team.
4. This role will develop and maintain data management systems, develop and implement data visualization tools, and provide strategic guidance to project staff on data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in M&E, data analysis, and data visualization, with a strong focus on stakeholder communication and report writing

A. Job Responsibilities

Data Management, Analysis & Visualization:

  • Develop, implement and maintain data pipelines, methodologies, data collection tools, and templates to collect project-required data and reports. This includes as-needed enumerator training, to be conducted with the MER team.
  • Together with all MER members, lead the collection of dis-aggregated data and ensure processes related to data management aligns with donor requirements and compliance. This includes collecting quantitative (e.g., surveys, secondary data) and qualitative monitoring data (e.g., focus group discussions, interviews, case studies and Most Significant Changes (MSC)).
  • Coordinate and execute analysis of real-time program monitoring data collected on a weekly and termly basis.
  • Conduct data analysis on program evaluation, including quantitative and qualitative data, in accordance with donor requirements and compliance.
  • Compile and publish quantitative and qualitative monitoring and evaluation results in visually-attractive M&E Reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Design and implement data visualization tools, in the form of dashboards, charts, and graphs to present complex data in an easily understandable format. The visualization tools are used to effectively communicate project data and results to donors and stakeholders.
  • Support and respond to the Head of MER, Director of Program & MER, Senior Management, and/or donor data queries in an accurate and timely manner.

Research :

  • Support the Director of Program & MER in overseeing the research collaboration of the 1000 Days Fund, in the form of reviewing research documents and methodologies and collecting as-needed data.

Learning :

  • Establish an inquisitive learning culture within 1000 Days Fund through leading the capacity building efforts in MER.

Reporting & Dissemination:

  • Prepare reports (quarterly/annually) and presentation slides of the project as per set

timelines and guidance.

  • Assist the Advocacy and Fundraising teams to share reports from MER activities and successful case stories in different platforms for wider reach and strengthened advocacy.

B. Education and Experienced Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social science, public health, or a related field with a concentration on monitoring and evaluation, statistics, research, or related fields (Master's degree is preferable).
  • Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience in designing, managing, and implementing health monitoring systems, data quality assurance, database management, data analysis, and Reporting.

) At least 2 years of experience of supporting project work and/or MER activities for an NGO
5. Experience in designing data pipeline, including tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
6. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative monitoring methodologies and proven ability to design monitoring instrumentation tools;
7. Experience in research design and reporting is strongly recommended.

C. Skills Requirements:

  • Strong technical skills in data collection softwares (e.g, KoboToolBox, REDCAP).
  • Strong technical skills in data analysis using statistical software packages and collaborative programming tools, specifically Python and Google Colaboratory. Skills in other statistical and data management programming languages, e.g., R and SQL, is preferable.
  • Proficiency in Looker Studio and/or other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, ).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and planning skills.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis presentation, including data visualization and report writing.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • Domiciled or willing to relocate to Bali, Indonesia.
